ABSTRACT

Macroergonomic activities are directed primarily to the design of socio – technical systems, in which the "total optimization" includes the design of optimal human - organization system. Hendrick and Kleiner (2001) believe that the most appropriate moment in such an activity is effective is the general (major) change in a given system (eg. change in technology, equipment, etc.). Another favorable situation is the general change of the organization's objectives, the scope or direction of development (eg. introducing a new product or new concept of production – for example from mass to customized). Cited authors provide an increasing role of the macroergonomics in such situations. This is often expressed by the leading role of 'change agents' - leaders, specialists with extensive knowledge of ergonomics, the science of organization and socio – technical systems.
