ABSTRACT
This paper proposes the support environment to improve the usability of the systems efficiently in the development process. Human-centred design for interactive systems (ISO9241-210) is applied to the system development process and necessary activities from a system planning and proposal phase to a design and development phase are clarified. These help system engineers without expertise improve usability of systems. For upper process of system development (from a system planning and proposal phase to a requirement definition phase), we developed the method for clarifying and describing customer needs concerning usability. This method was used for evaluation that describes customer needs about usability. Moreover the customer needs described by the method were compared with those described by a usability expert, so that the both needs were confirmed to be almost the same. From this verification, validity and usefulness of the method were verified.
