During daily driving, interaction with other drivers is a complex part of driving task, where information is primarily contained in anonymous and transient driving behaviors. However, there are few theoretical frameworks and empirical evidences focused on driver-driver interaction. This study aims at elaborating the mechanism of driver-driver interaction process. We reviewed the related literatures describing elements of drivers’ internal status, external behaviors which contain attributes and influence factors to interaction process between drivers. A perception-cognitionemotion-behavior framework was proposed to interpret the anger and aggression caused by defectiveness interaction. The need for further research is to empirically establish and validate the framework, based on which more efficient driver-driver communication system could be designed for the better emotions and safer behaviors.
