ABSTRACT

This article analyzes the various construction parameters for a wheelchair by a group of users and one of nonusers. It was used a conceptual approach where usability is quantified and parameterized, resulting in a functional analysis of the object. For an emotional approach were used 14 emotions based on surveys, which tried to understand how individual differences, such as education level, age, gender or be active professionally may influence the choice of a standard wheelchair. Based on the results and some background qualitative information selection, criteria were established for wheelchairs due to the individual, where the functional approach intersect with an affective construction of the use experience.
