ABSTRACT
Greenways, rivers, and trails which attract visitors from outside the local area can stimulate the local economy. This chapter begins with examples stressing the importance of natural and cultural areas for attracting visitors, followed by examples showing how rivers, trails, and greenways can contribute to the travel and tourism sectors. The last section demonstrates how corridor projects can increase tourism appeal and marketing potential of a local community.
