ABSTRACT

This chapter describes four main approaches to prioritizing an organization’s Lean initiatives. The four methods increase in complexity and time to apply the prioritization technique. The first is a simple priority impact and effort matrix; the next is applying a Pugh initiative selection matrix; the third is applying a quality function deployment (QFD) house of quality tool; and the last, most complex, approach is applying a systems engineering approach from the business architecture body of knowledge. The advantages and disadvantages of each approach are shown in Figure 23.1.
