ABSTRACT

Within an organization, Networks are developed to generate continuous improvements in business practices or in core business areas of the organization. Networks commonly found in organizations may include the following:

1. Management Systems Networks 2. Process Safety Management (PSM) Networks 3. Specialty engineering area Networks, such as electrical, rotating

equipment, and instrumentation Networks

The goals of Networks are collaboration across geographical, technological, and experience boundaries to –nd creative solutions to complex problems faced by organizations in an organized manner. When Networks are activated in organizations, they are done so purposefully and with great care and attention to address value-added opportunities identi–ed by the organizations and which require focused attention by a group of people working together for a common cause.
