ABSTRACT

For most of the organizations establishing Networks in the workplace, this is a fairly new concept. The ways Networks are expected to function and operate are now being developed, and organizations are wrestling with issues and challenges around the following:

1. Size of the Network-What is the optimal size of the Network? 2. Representation-Should representation be limited to business units

or extended to business functions and facilities? 3. The right balance between face-to-face meetings and virtual

meetings. 4. Quantifying the value created by the Network. 5. Understanding the right balance between Network responsibilities

and full-time duties. 6. The cost associated with travel, accommodation, and international

commute for globally distributed Network members. 7. The numbers of Networks to be established. 8. Managing the interrelationships between overlapping Networks.
