ABSTRACT

Renowned author Jim Collins (2001), in his book Good to Great, emphasized the importance of discipline in his writing. Collins advised: “When you have disciplined people you don’t need hierarchy; when you have disciplined thought you don’t need bureaucracy; when you have disciplined action you don’t need excess controls” (p. 13). It is no secret, therefore, that many organizations are today seeking to drive discipline in their business practices, processes, and Management Systems.
