ABSTRACT

Some research studies require that three or more measures be taken over time, under different conditions, or on different sets of individuals or subjects. This chapter presents the Cochran Q test in Section 7.1 and the Friedman test in Section 7.2. Kendall’s coefficient of concordance is included as part of both sections and discussed further in Section 7.3. The Cochran Q and Friedman tests analyze differences on repeated measures for a single case or for multiple related samples. In a single case design, every participant is measured on several occasions or under several different conditions. In a matched subjects design, three or more participants are grouped to form a set in which each participant in the set is measured on the same or different variable.
