ABSTRACT
Bioceramics are usually polycrystalline inorganic materials used in biomedical application, such as hard tissue repair and regeneration, drug delivery, and implant coatings. In this chapter, the concept of “bioceramic” is extended. Bioglass and glass-ceramic are also included as bioceramics. Table 5.1 summarizes various bioceramics that are acceptable and widely studied.
