ABSTRACT
Among the drugs that stimulate the central nervous system are the analeptic, psychotonic (stimulant and psychostimulant), and nootropic (psychoenergizing) substances. This division is conventional, because many of them have multiactivity. Analeptics mainly stimulate respiratory and vasomotor centers, but some of them also affect the intellectual functions of the brain.
