ABSTRACT

Lifestyle diseases are the cause of increasing mortality among middle-aged, which constitute the largest group of professionals in the modern society. Cardiovascular diseases, especially cardiac failure, have become synonymous with chronic illnesses plaguing social groups in developed countries. The most prevalent cardiovascular disease is hypertension, which affects nearly half the population. Moreover, the ischemic heart disease, the heart failure, and the arrhythmias of cardiac origin are also frequently mentioned. Pathophysiology of these phenomena has a complex character, and the most important reasons are included: impaired myocardial contractility, lipid disorders, congenital or acquired defects, and an unhealthy lifestyle.
