ABSTRACT

Mucolytic, antitussive, and antiasthmatic drugs do not form a homogeneous division of chemically related pharmaceuticals. They even do not exert the same pharmacological action. Only bromhexine and ambroxol are almost identical. In a description of particular compounds, information includes-if only such data are available-possible degradant impurities, sample preparation in the context of matrix (pharmaceutical formulation, biological samples), chromatographic systems used in the separation, and/or quantitation of particular drugs.
