ABSTRACT
We have encountered convective transport at many points in this text, have derived the convective transport equations in microscopic and macroscopic forms, and have solved several convective transport problems. In all instances, we have either not needed a convective transport coef„cient or if we needed one, it has been provided without an explanation of how it was obtained or why it has a particular magnitude. The purpose of this chapter is to show how we can use the convective transport equations we derived in Chapter 10 to obtain explicit relations for the transport coef„cients.
