ABSTRACT

Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) surgery has become the most common weight loss procedure performed in the United States [1]. This surgery involves the creation of a small gastric pouch and an anastomosis to a Roux limb of jejunum that bypasses 75 to 150 cm of small bowel, thus restricting food intake and limiting nutritive absorption [2].
