ABSTRACT
The role of zinc as a growth factor in Aspergillus niger was reported for the rst time in 1869 [1]. In 1926, zinc was shown to be essential for the growth of the plants and in 1934 for the growth of the rats [2]. In 1963, its essentiality for humans was established [3].
