ABSTRACT

Achieving and maintaining a competitive advantage in any industry neither is nor has it been easy. Both pharmaceuticals and foods sectors have independent as well as related challenges as both are at the different stages of a life cycle.1 Pharmaceutical sector is at a maturity stage, whereas nutraceutical and food sectors in some countries are at growth and infancy stages. Hence, the challenges faced by both sectors need to be looked at separately and together as the population has become more sophisticated, demanding, and expect product innovations; legislation also needs to cope with the environment and become more reective and complex.
