ABSTRACT
The quantum well (QW) laser, rst announced in 1975 with optical pumping [1], was soon improved by using the usual convenient electrical pumping [2]. Because of various advantages, the QW laser has been the standard diode laser and has almost totally captured the present commercial laser market.
