This chapter investigates end-to-end Concurrent Multipath Transfer (CMT) using SCTP multihoming for increased application throughput and reliability. CMT is the simultaneous transfer of new data from a source host to a destination host via two or more end-to-end paths. Simultaneous transfer of new data to multiple destination addresses is a natural extension to SCTP multihoming, but there are several design considerations that we explore in this chapter.
