ABSTRACT
The chemical pathologist signing out results phoned the GP and suggested the possibility of malabsorption as the cause of the biochemical findings. The GP recalled the patient and discovered that the patient’s brother was taking a gluten-free diet and that the patient herself tended to avoid wheat products.
