ABSTRACT
On the basis of symptom scoring, she commenced hormone replacement therapy, but symptoms persisted with unintended weight loss of about 4 kg and report of palpitations. On the basis of her thyroid function tests shown below (initial), she commenced on carbimazole at a dose of 20 mg, but as symptoms persisted the dose was increased to 40mg daily. Repeat thyroid function tests on carbimazole are as below.
