ABSTRACT

History A 66-year-old man is brought to A&E by his wife with a worsening headache and new onset of vomiting. The headaches started a couple of months ago, are worse in the morning and have not responded to over-the-counter pain relief. His wife reports that her husband has been confused and agitated lately and has been aggressive on occasions, which is completely out of character. Prior to this, he has been fit and well with no history of headache. He stopped smoking five years ago after a 20 pack-year history and rarely drinks alcohol. He does not take any other medications.
