ABSTRACT
History A 15-year-old boy presents to the A&E after falling over and injuring his knee on a school trip. His teacher had become concerned as the knee had swollen dramatically in size since the injury a few hours earlier. This swelling was accompanied by significant joint pain and tenderness, which the patient remembers having experienced a few times several years ago, but cannot remember what exactly happened around that time.
