Examination She is pale and clammy, pulse is 110 bpm regular, blood pressure (BP) 80/40 mm/Hg, jugular venous pressure (JVP) is raised to the ear lobes and increases on inspiration, the heart sounds are quiet but normal and the cardiac apex not palpable. The lungs sound clear and there is mild ankle oedema.
