ABSTRACT

No matter the method of communication, it is still communication if it is performed functionally. Think about when you travel to a foreign country, what is the first thing you learn to do? Normally, learning the signals of major important items such as knowing where the restroom is, finding transportation, and asking about food and accommodations. The majority of the time this communication methodology is done through certain hand gestures because there is a language barrier. Language barrier or not, the communication is still performed and understood. This methodology is all still communication, just visual communication. The same aspect goes for the workplace; people aren’t always available for knowing what happened in prior days, shifts, or during the same times at different locations. Graphs, signs, and visual controls take place for the communication.
