ABSTRACT
An 88-year-old woman has been admitted to hospital after her daughter visited and found her to be confused. For the past three days the patient has complained of feeling tired and has become increasingly disorientated. She was normally relatively fit and well, lived alone and was independent for all activities of daily living (ADLs). On direct questioning, she describes symptoms of urinary frequency and dysuria.
