Rad51 fi laments invade the homologous duplex forming a D-loop (C), allowing DNA synthesis to occur (D). HR can then proceed via SDSA (E) to produce non-crossover products. Alternatively, a double Holliday junction (F) may form which can be dissolved (H), also forming non-crossovers, or this structure may be resolved (G) giving either crossover or non-crossover products.
