ABSTRACT
Philippe Wieser obtained his diploma in mechanical engineering at the EPFL (Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) in 1977 and he received his PhD in 1981. After a few years working in an engineering consulting company, he joined the EPFL. His fields of research and teaching deal with logistics and information systems, integrated logistics, supply chain optimization, project management, risk management and health supply chain. Since May 2000, Mr. Wieser is Director of IML, the International Institute for the Management of Logistics (EPFL – Lausanne and Ecole des Ponts-ParisTech). Mr. Wieser is professor at EPFL-Lausanne (Minor, Master and Executive Master) and teaches at a number of other international universities. He is author or co-author of more than hundred publications and international conference papers.
