ABSTRACT
A healthy growing tree stem is not usually damaged by insects. Osmotic pressure in tissues maintained at a definite level in the course of water supply through the roots into the tree stem prevents their appearance. As soon as normal water exchange is disturbed and osmotic pressure in the whole stem or its part changes, the tree will be exposed to insect attack [1].
