ABSTRACT

Polyconjugated sulfur-containing polymers, first of all polytiophene are replacing substances and analogous substances attract the attention of researchers because of the wide spectrum of their properties. Electroconductivity, luminescence, and electroluminescence condition the application of these polymers as organic conductors and semiconductors, as light emitting diodes, as photo voltage cells, sensors, photodetectors, and so on [1-5]. There are lots of articles summarized in the reviews [5-10], devoted to the chemistry of polythiophene of its co-polymers and block-co-polymers. The data about the electropolycondensation of thiophene [11, 12] and also of organoboron [13] and organometallic [14] thiophene containing polymers were published. In this review, the most important progress in the synthesis of tienothiophene containing and of dithienothiophene containing polymers during the recent 10 years is represented.
