ABSTRACT
As part of a much larger ergonomic trial focussing on equestrian saddle design, the work presented here relates to some of the preliminary anthropometric data. Testing seven different saddle shapes, and having assessed 71 athletes, (mean age 21) the study was halted for ethical reasons, the non-riders suffering pudendal and obturator nerve compression with numbness and muscle cramps in the legs (Masters 1999).
