ABSTRACT

Pervious concrete is “concrete containing little, if any, fine aggregate that results in a sufficient voids to allow air and water to easily pass from the surface to underlying layers” (ACI Concrete Terminology 2012: 18). A comprehensive report on pervious concrete was published in 2010 by ACI Committee 522 (2010), superseding the previous committee report from 2006. Portland cement pervious concrete (PCPC) is a rapidly changing technology, and this report is being revised. Therefore, it might be prudent to obtain the most recent ACI Committee 522 documents when designing or building a new pervious concrete pavement.
