Applying the Principles of Human–­Computer Interaction to Improve the Efficiency of the Emergency Medicine Unit

The department of emergency medicine, commonly referred to as the ER, is a hospital’s showcase on the one hand and on the other it functions as a first line of defense. In other words, it serves to provide extremely rapid and life saving primary care, and avoids placing strain on other hospital departments by treating patients whose condition does not require hospitalization.
