ABSTRACT

The cloud computing paradigm enables the sharing of large amounts of data securely and efficiently. Furthermore, the advent of cloud computing and the continuing movement toward software as a service (SaaS) paradigms has posed an increasing need for assured information sharing (AIS) as a service in the cloud. In order to satisfy the cloud-centric AIS needs of coalition organization, there is a critical need to develop an AIS framework that operates in the cloud. To our knowledge, no such system currently exists. In particular, we describe the detailed design and implementation of AIS in a semantic cloud. That is, we have used Semantic Web

technologies for providing cloud-based Semantic Web services. These Semantic Web services enable information sharing. Our framework consists of a three-layer architecture that includes a user interface layer, a policy engine layer, and a data connection layer that integrates multiple data sources in the cloud.
