ABSTRACT

At this stage, we have presented most of the evidence regarding bullying at work. Almost all the evidence has been accompanied by a caveat: a qualification of some kind which highlights a drawback in method or a restriction to the adopted view. Such caveats reflect the nature of the topic, and reflect the continuing evolution in thinking and practice. This chapter will act as a capstone to previous chapters by discussing directly the problems of how we conceive of bullying. That is, what does the evidence so far mean for the rather simplistic definitions of bullying presented in previous chapters?
