ABSTRACT

The chamomile plant is morphologically heterogeneous, both in the wild and when cultivated. Chamomile plants originating from different areas show a great variation. There are differences in the sizes of the habit, owers, and the content of essential oil and its compounds (Franz et al. 1985). The variability observed in chamomile could largely be attributed to the ecological and environmental conditions, as studies indicate (Franz et al. 1985; Massoud and Franz 1990a).
