ABSTRACT
The various kinds of medicinal preparations, nutraceuticals, cosmeceuticals, and other health-care products, which are based on chamomile, use the essential oil or extract of chamomile. The essential oil is obtained from the owers through hydrodistillation while the extract through the use of solvents such as ethanol. In addition, many of the formulations and preparations use individual chemicals fractionated from either the essential oil or the extract. For this, the extract used is prepared from the owers, from the whole plant, or from the roots, which gives a higher yield of the compounds.
