ABSTRACT
Using the Swan-Ganz catheter A multi-lumen flow-directed pulmonary artery catheter (PA catheter) – or Swan-Ganz catheter – may provide valuable information to assess left ventricular function, to measure pressures in the left side of the heart, to optimise left ventricular filling pressure, and to allow thermal dilution cardiac output measurements to be made.
