Use of nitrous oxide (N20)

Nitrous oxide is the oldest anaesthetic agent used in modern anaesthetic practice. Its place in current anaesthetic practice is under scrutiny with the availability of new fast-onset and fast-offset opiates with far fewer side-effects.
