ABSTRACT
The trachea extends from its attachment at the lower end of the cricoid cartilage, at the level of C6, to its termination at the bronchial bifurcation at the level of T5 and the manubrio-sternal junction (angle of Louis). In full inspiration, the bronchial bifurcation can be at the level of T6.
