ABSTRACT
A 74-year-old man comes to the emergency department for a repeat blood test. He had gone to the phlebotomy department earlier in the day for routine blood tests, and that evening the GP had telephoned him to tell him to go to the emergency department urgently, since his potassium level was too high.
