Skin problems are a common occurrence in the emergency department. You will often be asked ‘How good are you with rashes?’ Getting a diagnosis can be quite difficult, even for the specialist, so it is imperative to obtain an adequate history with an accurate description of the rash or lesion in order to reach a differential diagnosis or to convey the details to the dermatologist while referring.
