ABSTRACT

Starting a project within a well-established research group can be daunting, especially if you are new to the concept of research. Working in a large group of individuals with different skills and personalities is always diffi cult. It is therefore important from the outset that you understand your own aims for your time out of clinical practice. On the fl ip side, it can be very exciting to be thrust into a new environment where you get to meet dedicated scientists at the top of their game who are passionate about the work they do.
