ABSTRACT
Being able to describe rashes using the correct terms is vital for answering dermatology SAQs. Although we give several examples in the questions in this chapter, it is beyond the scope of this book to teach how to diagnose rashes from their appearance. Obtain a concise dermatology text1,2 and read the introduction with a view to learning both the key elements of the dermatological history and the correct terms in which to describe rashes and other common skin conditions.
