Warfarin Warfarin is a racemic mixture of S-and R-warfarin enantiomers, with the S-enantiomer possessing significantly (5-6 times) more anticoagulant properties. S-warfarin is metabolized primarily by CYP2C9 and R-warfarin by CYP1A2, CYP2C19 and CYP3A4.
