ABSTRACT
Size is the primary criterion. The diameter of the nanothermometer discussed in this chapter is in the “nano” scale. When
the nanothermometer has a size distribution, the average value is considered. Its shape does not have to be spherical. The nanothermometer monitors the temperature in a microscopic area; the spatial resolution as a thermometer should therefore be as small as a micrometer.
