ABSTRACT
The Critical Topic Review (CTR) part of the FCEM examination is designed to test your ability to ask a clinical question, search the evidence, critically appraise the papers you nd and synthesize the answer to your question. It formalizes something we should be doing regularly as clinicians on the shop oor of the ED and assesses our ability to do this. For the betterment of our patients, being able to critically assess the literature and manage patients in an evidence-based manner is essential.
