ABSTRACT
History A 77-year-old woman presents to the accident and emergency department after slipping on ice and falling, hurting her left hip. She is unable to weight bear on her left leg. There is no history of significant past joint pain or swelling. Before falling she had mildly limited mobility but was otherwise active and well. Other than bendroflumethiazide for hypertension there is no significant medical history.
