History You are asked to review the abdominal radiograph of a 28-year-old woman who has presented to the accident and emergency department with worsening abdominal pain and diarrhoea. She is known to have a diagnosis of ulcerative colitis and, despite occasional disease exacerbations as a teenager, she has been symptom free for 5 years.
